Hello,
I'm looking for some help finding an apt source for SSTP .
My ISP router seems to be blocking GRE requests, and so I am seeing "LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests" when using PPTP.
Unfortunately, I can't switch to another ISP provider because I'm on a long term contract with them.
Thanks in advance for the any help.

Please start over and post output of "inxi -Frn"  Please mark up as code.  Use the # button.

I have never dealt with it.  Did you try the debian package page,  "aptitude search sst"   or your choice of apt  or apt-get versions to search?
Did you do us the courtesy of informing us of whether you are using Sparky 4 or Sparky 5.  Inxi will tell us that and a little about your network. Did you use search engines, what search?

Quote. But unlike SSTP, OpenVPN is open-source and is not solely owned by Microsoft

To be blunt, unless that has changed and it has been GPL'ed , the competent Debian people who assist on forums or irc will first ask why you are not using an opensource program.  The short answer to "apt" is not.  And before you try adding some Ubuntu ppa (if there is one)

https://wiki.debian.org/DontBreakDebian#Don.27t_make_a_FrankenDebian      Hang around in irc #debian-next and you will see how bad using Ubuntu ppas can be.

I found two projects for SSTP:

On Source Forge
http://sstp-client.sourceforge.net/

On Git Hub
https://github.com/enaess/network-manager-sstp

The author of the git hub project is maintaining the following : deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/eivnaes/network-manager-sstp/ubuntu

I tested it on an old laptop running Ubuntu, and it has worked there.
I'll give it a try in Sparky and let you know.
What dist version should I point at ? "disco" perhaps

paxmark1

You are 5.7 so you are in testing.    Ubuntu 19.04  or LTS  bionic or disco. You would have to check.  I went with bionic for the VirtualBox ppa yesterday for my new buster install on a new ssd.   i do use the occasional ppa, or binary (sigil, calibre, virtualbox) but avoid as much as possible.

I would check around to see if other people in Debian, especially testing, have had success with this ppa.  There are ubuntu ppa's out there that will foul and convolute your system so badly that only a total re-install will work.  The chance of this happening is higher if you are in testing. You will be receiving many new udates after July 11.

peace out.

If solved, you can edit and add "Solved:" to the header of your first post in this thread.

I did write in error about a side issue in my first reply.

QuoteYou will be receiving many new updates after July 11.

I forgot that although Sid is much more quiet and demure during the last part of the freeze, there is a back log once a new release comes.  I had 53 updates in Sparky 5 - testing in LXQT on antique AspireOne versus 26 in a new debian sid on a my ancient aspire one on the sdhc.   [I am going to try out Sway -Wayland but it just cli with no x or wayland until libjson or something comes down from experimental.]  Here comes the pent up new programs.
