Hi all.
I need a battery charge monitor/indicator added the panel at the bottom of my desktop if I'm to keep sparky as my primary O/S on my netbook. is there some software I can install to do this for me?

It depends upon which panel you are using, but, in any case, there are generally a multitude of choices.  If you have fbpanel, or if your panel allows genmon plugins, look at http://lxlinux.com/fbpanel.html.   If you have access to openbox dock (using openbox window manager), see http://lxlinux.com/dock.html.  In general, just do a web search for "Linux panel battery indicators".

Hi all, I tried installing fbpanel & then uninstalled it as still couldn't find a panel widget to indicate battery charge but after searching menu options I found a battery indicator under Preferences, lxqt settings, Power Management so all sorted not sure how to mark the thread solved though

What is your DE (Desktop environment)?
What is your panel?
That is the crucial question to which one of several "indicators"  or widgets or applets you should go with.

There is always "conky"  Pages and pages on conky in #! (Crunch Bang) and BunsenLabs forums and also Vsido forum.   Conky is agnostic as to DE. It is not a widget or an applet.   It just sits there in a box on your screen.  The output will be text based digital unless you set it up for a linear analog (or both).

Example put into new thread under Show us your Conky

Search forum for "More info easier via inxi"    If requested -  no inxi, no help for you by  me.
