Play on Linux crashes while installing

Everything I searched was older so I will try again for this installation of Sparky. I installed play on Linux and I am trying to install wxmp3gain 32 bit or mp3gain 64 bit on it. (both non-listed programs)
wxmp3gains (32 bit) the minute I try to make the virtual drive crashes. The 64 bit will make the virtual drive but does not find the program and any shortcut is make ends up being wine explorer.

I have had the same problem on Debian, Parrot and now Sparky, on multiple computers. I looked up some tutorials, which have not worked. Sparky said to add "software-properties-common" which was not found another said to add "architecture i386" which was also not found. This is the only program I use on playonlinux and is no longer available on Linux.
I have always been able to install it on a Ubuntu any Ubuntu based OS, so am not sure why it won't install on a Debian bases OS.

I am using Sparky Mate rolling. SparkyLinux 8 (Seven Sisters)

Does anyone have a tutorial that works on Sparky? Does anyone know of an alternative to MP3gain? I use audacity to edit my music and adjust the volume, but need MP3Gain to equalize the songs on my playlists or albums.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I removed 32 bit support from all rolling iso images 2023.07 (excluding GameOver), so you have to add it back:
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386then
sudo apt update

I must be missing a repository. I have left the repositories as they were when installed Sparky, but cannot find architecture i386.
dpkg is installed so I tried apt-get install and it says it is unable to locate that package.

From the terminal using dpkg:

laptop:~$ sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
[sudo] password for jim:
laptop:~$

From the terminal suing apt-get:

laptop:~$ sudo apt-get install architecture i386

E: Unable to locate package i386

Do I need to add a new repository?
I really like Sparky and this is not a deal breaker, but I would like to get it going if I could. Thanks again.

Do not install architecture i386, it does not exist.
Only add it...
After 'sudo apt update' you can install packages from i386 repos, such as Play on Linux:
sudo apt install playonlinux

I removed PlayOnLinux and deleted the associated folder in my home file.
dokg is already installed
laptop:~$ sudo apt install dpkg
[sudo] password for jim:

dpkg is already the newest version (1.21.22).

Then followed the instructions:

laptop:~$ sudo apt install playonlinux

Trying to make the virtual drive and install the program:

Error in POL_Wine
Wine seems to have crashed

If your program is running, just ignore this messag
e

I cannot get past POL making the virtual drive, it crashes every time. Usually it asks you for your language, then accept the agreement for Windows and goes on to make the virtual drive and setup the icon. If I keep going it just crashes again and doesn't make an icon.

I know I am missing something, just not sure what. Where is the add-architecture i386? dpkg is NOT adding it.

Solved
After a lot of frustration and reading tutorials that didn't work I found these in the Sparky repository.
wine32-preloader:i386
wine32:i386

While I have used Linux for about 15 years I am pretty new to semi-rolling releases and pretty much a GUI guy, but I took a chance of breaking the system and used synaptic to install < wine32-preloader:i386 >. I was then able to install and run < wxmp3gain-4.0-win32-setup.exe > with no problems. I then ran an upgrade and rebooted to make sure it didn't break the system, which is still fine.

Thanks for the help though, it was appreciated and helped me solve the problem in the long run.
Jim
