I just installed SparkyLinux 32bit Openbox on an old RCA Cambio W101CS. 2gb ram 32gb hard drive. My problem is the system boots into portrait mode and not landscape. This is awkward with a keyboard attached. I can turn it with xrandr, (xrandr --output DSI-1 --rotate right) but it does not stay on reboot or display the boot splash in landscape. Where can I look for help on this forum?

Please check if this option will work for you, to solve the problem:

➤ Want to know how you can use a program you have never used before? "man" will be your best new friend! Type "man <pkg-name>" in a shell.
➤ Or, point your browser to "manpages.debian.org/<pkg-name>" .... RTFM !!!

I added video=efifb fbcon=rotate:1 to kernel command line, saved it and did update-grub. upon reboot it did not work. I have been using Linux for 12 years and a simple thing like this has reduced me to a newbie!

Have you already tried, adding the option you mention, to the OpenBox 'autostart' file (~/.config/openbox/autostart) ... ???

xrandr --output DSI-1 --rotate right &

Cheers !!

Thank you so much!! It goes to landscape after booting. I added the line "xrandr --output DSI-1 --rotate right &" to the bottom of the .config/openbox/autostart.sh file. Would you please confirm that was the correct place?

Just personally edit your first post in this thread, and add [SOLVED] to the message title.
