Serious problems with JACK in Multimedia 5.5

Installed SL Multimedia 5.5 and found JACK (essential for low latency audio work) completely inoperable.  Attempted to reinstall but to no avail.  Unfortunately my LINUX issue-sleuthing ability is limited so beyond reporting this bug I hope that other more capable souls can intervene.

projectm-jack   jackd     or jack?      jack is for ripping  see "man jack"

The following is for   jack    (funny guy in past named his ripper   --  jack the ripper  --actually not that funny).

     ## Note: you are not eligible to report bugs in the Debian base when using Sparky, but using the Debian Bug  Tracking System is a fantastic skill set to learn.

1.  If you are in Sparky 5 and have limited skills - especially in sleuthing bugs -  I would strongly recommend going to Sparky 4.

2.  (Only if your problem is for JacktheRipper) Install   inxi and post "inxi -A" and "inxi"  also post "apt-cache show jack"  ##Note:  to copy from terminal use Ctl-Shift-C
example
paxmark@raunes:~$ inxi -A

##Note Use the "sharp" button above to post code or use the xml tags.

If it is due to bug 898075 in jack (the ripper) then "apt upgrade"  "apt full-upgrade"  (as sudo or root)  should fix  jack

But probably -

The following is for the low latency system - with jack as part of the name of many components  --  i.e  like jacks on an audio board.
jackd  - special daemon named jack.
http://www.jackaudio.org/
.
If it is due to the special low latency jackd environment not working maybe try
https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/start

You can take the following as harsh or as learning.  Your post did not (in my view)  report a bug.  For me, bug squashing involves bug reporting that gives enough info to aid in the squashing process.  We do not know your kernel, whether you are using a special low-latency kernel from elsewhere, etc .  In the future, more information.

peace out

peace out.
