Boot difficulties

I have just recently got sparkylinux and it has had trouble since installation. It took a while but I finally got the os installed and I began to download different programs through the apt manager. I wanted Steam on my system so I began to go through the installation steps for it. Steam, and my screensavers, would not start with the error "display does not support glx". I then disabled all video drivers that were not primary because steam forums said this was a solution. This solved the problem of both steam and the screensavers but now my system has trouble booting. It will either A: boot to a black screen and stay there, B: boot to a no gui version of the os, or C: it will rarely boot to the operating system with the gui but with all wireless communications disbled.

It would be great if someone could help me, as this is an operating system I very much want to have.

System specs:
Dell latitude D820 laptop attempting to run sparkylinux V4.9.0-6-686
