Jar files won't execute

After I did the system upgrade my jar files won't execute. I had Minecraft running previously without any problems, but now when I double click it, it tries to extract the files. I had java 6 installed. I really don't know what happened. I used to right click it and tell it to open with Java 6, but now that option doesn't exist. Any help would be apreciated.

Try to set it up.
Right click-> Properties-> Open with-> choose other-> choose Java
