LXQT did not install on f2fs file system on usb.
f2fs-tools were not included in distro. Though I hv installed it on synaptic.
Followed ideas at https://howtos.davidsebek.com/debian-f2fs.html

As I understand GRUB 2.04 supports F2FS system.
GRUB at Sparky is 2.02 version.
Any instructions for Sparky?

Third post in a row - Stable or Rolling.  Yes, it can make a difference.

The author of the web page - web site of howtos to help remind himself and others seems competent - capable.   Target is Buster which would be Stable in Sparky at present.  Skill set is somewhat high.

QuoteUnless you have a solid reason to use F2FS, I recommend sticking with the file systems offered by the Debian installer instead. The method mentioned here is not official. The very reason why I am updating this guide is that an update to the F2FS driver in the Linux kernel a few years ago brought additional kernel module requirements, making the systems set up according to my previous guide to F2FS unbootable. Also, F2FS may not work with some extended file system attributes, such as those used by SELinux.

The SELinux comments might have some bearing.

The Arch Wiki can be helpful at times.   Never follow it blindly.  Great info.

I do wish you luck.  I have run separate DE's on SDHC's in atom's in the past, but it is something that I would have been interested in the past, but at present I take care of people at work and my parents at 96 and 90.   Of course look at the Debian Forum to look for solutions.    A lot more users there,

I m using Sparky on a single core, with usb flash.
USB flash drives are very slow when it comes to writing.

F2FS can be handy to imorive peformance of the drives.
Unfortunately, no linux distro is supporting for installation.
Even sparky does not come preinstaled f2fs-tools.

sudo apt -s install f2fs-tools

The following additional packages will be installed:
  libf2fs-format4 libf2fs5
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  f2fs-tools libf2fs-format4 libf2fs5

Inst f2fs-tools (1.11.0-1.1 Debian:10.8/stable [amd64])

apt -s actually does not need the sudo.   same as --simulation.

Preinstalled or installable.   It is always a balance of what binaries to offer in a standard distro and DE.   Rarely used binaries are pre-installed that is what apt (or for Sparky aptus) is for.

What is your skill set or experience in Linux.   90+ % of all binaries in Sparky come from Debian.

Well, now you know what you have to do, use SolydXK. And stop advertising here another distro.

   Yes, surely it will:

Quote from:  ArchWiki [....]  Warning:
The data contained on F2FS partitions can become unusable if the kernel version on the running machine is older than the kernel version used to create the partition. For example, this limitation can manifest if the F2FS partition was created on a mainline kernel provided by linux yet the system has a need to downgrade to an older series of kernels provided by linux-lts.
[....]
Know Issues:
F2FS has a weak fsck that can lead to data loss in case of a sudden power loss ...

Quote from:  Wikipedia Note, that by default F2FS uses "posix" fsync scheme, which carries higher risks of leaving the file system in dirty state during unclean shutdown (as it does not guarantee atomicity of write operations) at the benefit of better performance.

Damn it lad, is so good that absolutely NO ONE uses it.
