Problem solved. ;D

I had a folder in home directory that access only root has.
Therefore the whole system isn't starting.
I have erased this folder from a boot cd on.
Now sparky runs like before.

Hi,

i am surprised that i cannot login my sparky linux and post this thread.

There is the normal login screen shown and i type the password in but sparky does not start.
Password and name are ok.
I can login as root.   name : root    password : root   -  a grey screen apperars and the mouse pointer is movable.

Would be glad if some suggestions made to my post.

Kindly Regards
MH

Not sure if you posted the bottom portion and then edited later via adding the 1rst paragraph.

Running your DE (Desktop environment) or even running GUI programs as root is a very easy was to open your system up to hacking and also cause your system to become an unfixable mess.

If you have lost your username password or it is corrupted, you can assign yourself a neww password for that username using the passwd command in a root terminal.

Please post output of

"inxi -bPr"    Use the # button to mark up as code.

If you are new to linux and Debian, it can be easier to start with the Stable Branch.   It is fairly easy to convert to the Rolling Branch later.
Search forum for "More info easier via inxi"    If requested -  no inxi, no help for you by  me.
