Hi,

I am trying to install SparkyLinux sparkylinux-5.4-x86_64-lxqt.iso on an Asus K60IN currently running Lubuntu 18.04 and i get the following error when trying to boot with the USB:

device descriptor read/64, error -71

I have tried the solutions indicated under with no positive outcome.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to keep this old beast running for as long as I can.

I already have it installed on my ols 2009 Toshiba and I love it, thanks for all of those who have contributed tho the project.

https://lxqt.org/release/2018/07/26/moving-to-oftc/    I just posted this.  The irc channel might be able to help.  They are agnostic about distros.

I would be very hesitant in using info from 2004 which is the date I see on the Spinic post.

if you have inxi installed it wouldn't hurt to post as code (# button) the output of "inxi -M"

Are you performing a clean install and then adding your backed up /home   (but not the .dot files), dual boot, virtual ...?   Have you checksummed the .iso?

My acer aspireone netbook about the same age runs sparky with lxqt nicely for several years now.  I wish you well.
Search forum for "More info easier via inxi"    If requested -  no inxi, no help for you by  me.
