So I have a late 07 a1181 model and I'm having a rough go at installing game over edition. I've tried to EFI boot from USB but it keeps saying file system error or no live boot medium found. Any help? I have the latest ISO of game over edition. Tia

"unable to find a medium containing a live file system"

its version 4.5 gameover edition. however i set up and ran rescue edition 4.5.3 live with no problem.
any way to install the core os and add the repos to make turn it into gameover?

never played with booting any other os on macbook so sorry if i am making total noob mistakes.
random windows hardware has always been easy

I removed the installer from the rescue iso, but you can get in back.
In the live system run:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install --reinstall sparky-backup-core

Then run the advanced installer:
sudo sparkylinux-installer gui
or (text mode):
sudo sparkylinux-installer

But...
It doesn't contain grub-efi debs, so can't install grub on uefi machines properly.

Can you try to install minimal iso dev20170202 image?
The advanced installer lets you do that, don't use calamers.

would that be through the recovery live image?

Wait nvm I understand. I'll try with minimal first thanks.
As for getting all the goodies that come with gamover?

All the additional stuff can be installed manually from repos.
Still meta packages of game, multimedia and rescue missing, have to find time to do that.

Now I can't even boot the rescue ISO. I'm going to try with a DVD and see how it goes.

Issue fixed. Using an external optical drive, burned the game edition at 4x on a dvd-r and the live CD booted. After that just ran the installer like normal, deleting osx and dedicating all of the resources to emulation for a portable gaming rig. Thanks for your help and hard work devs

Edit: Nvm something went wrong reboot didn't work maybe wrong format?
