i installed 3.2 LXDE 32-bit and 64-bit and also i installed 3.2 Mate 64-bit then rebooted a virtual machine and i see the grub menu then i get a black screen. I changed settings in virtualbox and nothing helped. im really puzzled by this issue. am i missing something?

I think it's a problem with the host system. Are you running VirtualBox on Linux or other system? What is it?

host system is windows 7 64-bit

There are two things.

1. I don't use MS system, sorry, but... Find VBox.log file in your home folder. Place it somewhere in the network and place a download link to it in next post so I'll download and have a look into the file.

2. You can try to find a solution on Debian, Windows and Virtualbox forums too:

I googled everywhere and couldnt find any solution thats why i joined this forum and posted my issue. when i run sudo commands, it says "unable to resolve host sparky linux 3.2 LXDE 32--bit

pavroo

You can not use sudo command after installation. Sparky uses 'su' to get the root access.

i resolved it. what happened is that i used spaces for hostname. the problem is that i was never warned not to use any spaces

pavroo

That's great. I didn't even think about that.

There was a similar bug that made using "-" just as bad.
