Hello Sparkies,
by now all missing packages are complete again, 'xsane' too.
In the meantime I've had some trouble between kernel 6.12... and nvidia drivers. So, I've had to use my last 6.11 kernel. But, this problem is also solved and my system works with kernel 6.12.12 and latest nvidia drivers. Unfortunately, in this moment I can't say, what version of nvidia drivers are installed.

Reminds me of a Network connection symbol, maybe a theme icon for nm-applet.

a nine 9, and an A  in the panel

I've seen such as indicators for NumLock and CapsLock state.

Newbie questions / Live USB Creator Persistence

I must be doing something wrong. I'm using Sparky 7.6 (Orion-Belt),
Debian stable based, with the xfce desktop. I flashed the Sparky .iso to a USB using
the Live USB Creator Persistence app.

Then I booted up to the live USB and made some configuration changes
and install a couple of apps. Then I shutdown and booted back up
to the live USB, expecting my changes to be saved, but they weren't.

I thought that when you flashed a .iso file to a USB using
the Live USB Creator Persistence app, that changes would be retained
on the USB. What am I missing here ?

(My goal is to make a live USB with all my configurations already done,
 ready to install to a hard drive.)

  Well, honestly I don't have the slightest idea, buddy.

And even less, without seeing an image that shows what you are commenting on.

[....]  and how do i remove them.

Open a terminal and type:

Code Select Expand

mate-panel --reset
Which will leave the panel, with its default settings.

Newbie questions / Move items on your dashboard

Hello everyone. I setup an old laptop as a streaming laptop connected to my TV and installed SparkyLinux on it. It works great! But... I am trying to figure out how I can move items (open window icons / tabs for lack of better term) on my panel, so that I can rearange them as I want. I can do this on my Desktop computer running MX LInux, and they're both Debian based and XFCE. Can someone help? I've been trying to figure this out for 2 hours now, I'm going nuts! LOL!

Hello Sparkers,
does any person information, how the Microsoft Defender Endpoint for Linux works on SparkyLinux 7 Xfce Edition (or on any others from them)?
If any, which are the corner-points during installation and/or usage?
I had found many issues on the web, but almost all of them are learn.microsoft issues, so they are anything but not authentic for me. Over that they are citations, so not too much useful for me. E.g. I could not be sure, is it a free application or is it a must for pay for it anyway?

Applications / Display problem with Libre Off...

I no longer see the formatting marks (those should be seen with CTRL+F10, this "¶" - CR+LF - to mean ), you only see the text limits on the page.
