Title: Twice User folders update in Sparkylinux 7.0.1 <SOLVED>
Post by: Henry1 on August 25, 2023, 12:37:45 PM
Hi Pavroo,

I have noticed that in start up applications there are two "User folders update" autostart entries; I don't think I have seen this in Sparky Po Tolo with Debian 11, is it "normal" or a bug?

Thank you in advance Pavroo

Henry

Hi,
If you installed a second desktop, on the top of Openbox, it could install the new desktop similar tool, or something.
Simply disable one autostart entry.

Hi Pavroo,

I am on XFCE Sparky 7.0.1 and haven't installed any Openbox...These two autostart entries have the same root: xdg-user-dirs-update and are also displayed in the live iso; investigating on internet I found this post of August 2018 but I am not sure if it has the same relation.

Those are separate things, the commands run are xdg-user-dirs-update and xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update, although I agree that it is confusing and I would suggest to combine them into a single autostart entry xdg-user-dirs-update; xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update, also because the gkt-one apparently doesn't have a localized name, either.
