I am running SparkyLinux 7.0 (Orion-Belt)MATE on a 2010 iMac.Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-9-amd64
With Mullvad VPN installed (latest version 2023.4) my system update gets locked into a loop and will not update the system. It just crashes the update every time, with the Mullvad VPN installed.
Uninstalling Mullvad fixes the issue.
I get this changelog message:
"The following packages will be upgraded:
linux-libc-dev qmplay2
The following packages will be DOWNGRADED:
mullvad-vpn
2 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 downgraded, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 23.9 MB/103 MB of archives.
After this operation, 10.8 MB disk space will be freed.
#===============Upgrading Details==============================#
linux-libc-dev/core 6.4.12-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 6.4.11-1]
qmplay2/stable 23.08.22~repack0~sparky7~0-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 23.08.08~repack0~sparky7~0-1]"
There is obviously a conflict with Mullvad and the Sparky Update/Upgrade, how do I solve it?
Thanks for any help.
It depens what you have installed and what is in the repos, so simply run and check:
sudo apt update
apt policy mullvad-vpnAnyway, updated the repo version to the latest one so simply make upgrade.
Thank you, Pavroo!
You have fixed my Mullvad VPN issue, the system is working ok with Updates now.
No more glitches.
I ran the sudo command and got this:
"All packages are up to date.
mullvad-vpn:
Installed: 2023.4
Candidate: 2023.4"
So, all good now.
Thanks for your help. The more I use Sparky, the more I love it. Fantastic OS! Cheers.Jim
