Hello,
I have an old Eee-PC 701 4G on which SparkyLinux 3.3 (Jessie) is installed and runs reliably.
After changing the source list to "archive.debian.org" and commenting out the Sparky entries, I get a warning message when I want to install a "new" program.
>>>
# apt-get update
...
W: GPG error: http://archive.debian.org jessie Release: The following signatures were invalid: KEYEXPIRED 1587841717 <<<
I have now read on the
Freexian homepage that it is possible to bypass this warning message.
Unfortunately I don't know Linux so well that I could do something with the hints.
>>>
Alternatively, you can configure APT to ignore the error by using gpgvnoexpkeysig from mmdbootstrap as the Apt::Key::gpgvcommand. <<<
Can anyone help here?
Here is the link to Frexxian ELTS: https://www.freexian.com/lts/extended/docs/how-to-use-extended-lts/
At the very bottom at "
GPG Key Expiry".
Greetings
Hello
You shoudn't use it!
It has no more security updates, no support, no valid Sparky repos.
Sparky you can use :
- 7 stable
- 6 oldstable
- 5 oldoldstable (still supported)
or
- 8 testing
I am already aware of that.
However, the Freexian company offers long-term support for Jessie (Sparky 3.x).
Since I don't know much about Linux, I was wondering if anyone could help me with Freexian.
If so, you can use Debian Jessie up to date, but there is no Sparky 3 repos on Sparky server.
I removed it long time ago, so to avoid warnings from apt you should disable Sparky repos.
I have already disabled the Sparky repos.
The question is, how can I disable the warning message (Debian gpg Error) as described on the Freexian homepage.

Mmmh
sales...
...doesn't sound like free support.
Thanks for the replies.
I solved the problem by using Freexian's repos with their GPG key.
Now everything runs smoothly again.
