Title: Streaming application supported by Sparky?
Post by: Celeberrimo on November 14, 2018, 10:26:41 PM
Hello,
I'm 25 days away from getting a new computer and trying Sparky 5.5 Gameover Edition. I'm a bit tired of Windows, so... But sadly i'm struggling to find a good streaming application that supports Sparky. Does anyone know someone?
Thanks.  ;D

Anything that works in Debian will work in Sparky (unless it is not making it to the next stable)

mpv can work - examplempv "https://studioone-stream.iowapublicradio.org/StudioOne.mp3"
Playing: https://studioone-stream.iowapublicradio.org/StudioOne.mp3
(+) Audio --aid=1 (mp3)
File tags:

AO: [pulse] 44100Hz stereo 2ch s16
A: 00:03:34 Cache:  2s+0KB

Getting the CBC radios is harder. I have to use the web sites.

youtube-dl might work for some sites.

I do clementine - there are streams you can investigate, I just use it for my mp3's and oggs.
vlc, audacity, etc have streams  And I see a Spotify flatpak.
