Title: using encrypted home from Ubuntu
Post by: rollinbeaver on July 30, 2015, 09:11:09 PM
Hi,

while switching from Ubuntu to Debian, replacing a Linux Mint 17.1 installation with Sparky 4.0, my encrypted home directory was not directly usable, i.e. not decrypted.
Following a tip from http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=61195, installing ecryptfs-utils from debian repositories and rebooting solved that.
How about including this package in the standard installation? I would expect that switching from some Ubuntu variant to Sparky will be IMHO quite a common situation, and some of those encrypt homes without even asking.
