That's a beautiful wallpaper; dark areas making good background for light text and images with light borders.

My new "Sparky" 3.4 XFCE with some personal tweaks.
(Thanks to Pavroo and Black Pig for this fine XFCE ed.)
1. Changed Wbar to 'Plank' dock.
2. Changed conky to "Gotham"
3. Added "Delorean Dark" theme (looks great with 'LaGa' icons).. ;)
4. Added 'Compiz' and Emerald (from old .debs that I had saved)
5. Changed menu to 'Whisker'
6. Added 'CLIcompanion' (a must have for this senile old brain).. ::)

There is a problem with displaying images. On my second forums it work fine. Does anybody know what can be a reason of that?
That's weird, because some images are loading for me on the first few pages of this thread...but not the most recent posts.
It works back, but no thumbs now.Resize images mod was blocking that, but it should just resize images :(
Anyway it works fine on my second forum, maybe it's a question of a different skin?
^^

QuoteThose big images now must take up server space and slow downloads for some users?
I haven't seen that it slows down yet.
The images are not stored on sparky server.
We put links only from 3th party servers here so they don't use our server space at all.
The funniest thing is that I said that the thumbs and the APImage mod works on my second, Polish forums.

Hi. Sparky Linux 4.3 LXDE and liking it. Not finished tweaking but wanted to show off. Big thanks to Sparky Team! Conky is from VSIDO but with Sparky logo (it actually looks like it's spinning while I'm 'working') and colors tweaked by me (xcolors). I made the wallpaper and based it loosely on Knoppix 7.7 wallpaper. I made the start menu icon and panel background. I am using Numix-ArchBlue GTK and Ultra-Flat-Icons. I use a script called 'dkeger' by LinuxBBQ to set my 'Xcolors.' I use .Xresources and .xinitrc (I disabled Lightdm and removed Plymouth). I just use 'startx.' Compiz is next; it's being difficult though. I will win.

Basic customization of LXDE.
I haven't wasted time looking for some alternative background, but since I would like to modify the conky configuration file to adapt it to the colors of the GTK theme, I think I'll have to look for someone.
I made some minor changes to the application menu icon on the LXDE panel. It doesn't convince me at all, but the text of the default icon is unreadable with the use of dark themes

Well, today is an auspicious day as far as I'm concerned ..... even tho it is Friday 13th lol.
This is because I've been upset ever since Ubuntu decided to ditch 32-bit - which I think means that all its derivatives like Linux Mint do too - and I've hunted round high and low for a replacement based on Debian (which isn't giving up on 32-bit) with the Mate desktop which is my fave.
Sparky hasn't brought out a default Mate 32-bit version yet - although one is apparently in the wings - the reason I needed it being that (a) I hate throwing away tech just cos it's out of date, (b) cos I refurbish old IT (which is dead cheap or sometimes free even) with a Linux OS and give it away to needy families, and (c) I'm a nerdy wordy geek guy lol.
But then (yay!) I discovered that you can easily install a Mate desktop on 32-bit Sparky using Aptus, Dropbux can be added too, and everything else you could want - and omg Sparky Mate is wow as good as Ubuntu Mate!
So ....... I've refurbished this super little 32-bit Fizzbook netbook (which cost me £35 + £5p&p on eBay!) using Sparky Mate, and this is the result:
What do you think?
I'm into minimalist looks and Sparky Minimal Gui is a perfect choice just to install and tweak it a little since it's well configured by default. I use Openbox for stacking and i3 for tiling setup. I modified my Tint2 panel to be as minimalist and clean as possible. The magnifying glass icon opens rofi search window which is preinstaled with i3 to use with Super+Shift+D shortcut, but I like to use it on Openbox too by clicking the icon. For i3bar/i3blocks on i3 session, I removed some i3blocks indicators and changed the icons for text labels and the time/date format. My i3bar is black and window labels are the same colour as grey window titlebars in Openbox. I also changed the font for DejaVu Sans Mono in the whole system. Just wanted everything to be as consistent as possible. The default Sparky5 Openbox and icon theme is better than others I tried.

I wasn't familiar with neofetch. Bash. (Maybe I have been living under a rock). I looked at the Debian package page, seems quite nice.
I've found about neofetch when watching people's desktop screenshots. They often used it and other one called screenfetch. Some people set it's output as a welcome "banner" in their terminals. :)
Maybe it wasn't a good idea to show my hardware information, since I got very low-end for today's standards over 10 years old HP550 office laptop with ancient Intel GMA graphics chip. And I use it as my main machine now. I really like to revive older hardware and make it as fast as possible for everyday use.

Hello all. Per my promise, here is the second user selectable window manager in my (single) Sparky user-space. As always, all scripts are freely available upon request. All my backgrounds are from https://vlad.studio/wallpapers/

And now, my final scrot is for dwm (Suckless) running on Sparky in a single-userspace. This screenshot shows dwm, YAD with systems monitors, dmenu, 2 conkies and xsetroot.sh. For anyone wishing to try dwm out using my setup, let me know and I'll happily provide you with my setup.

I finally figured it out I think! My screenshot of SparkyLinux Openbox, Pont Darc over the Ardeche River wallpaper and Gis Weather app.

My [current] GNOME desktop
When I was young, I could not afford any commercial UNIX workstation running CDE. I used to dream about CDE while typing away on MS Word on Windows 3.11. It's amazing to see how much desktop scene has evolved and CDE has aged quite well!
Here my desktop, running Sparky Linux 6.6 with CDE desktop!

And there it is, working great, without any problem ... And of course using my favorite WM Fluxbox.
