Title: what are correct apt sources files for Sparky 6
Post by: dougm on June 26, 2021, 08:41:31 pm
I did a command-line upgrade from Sparky 5 to 6.

My current /etc/apt files entries are shown below.

Are the entries correct?

What packages are in the Sparky repos?  How are they different from the Debian repos?

What should I do when Debian Bullseye is released as stable later this year?

thanks

Your repo is fine, there is also a wiki page which lets you upgrade from Sparky 5 to 6:
https://wiki.sparkylinux.org/doku.php/upgrade_5_to_6

After Bullseye become stable, Sparky 6 automatically become stable too.
Then I will create new testing repos and let you make easy dist upgrade.

This process requires frequent user input ...

Note 1: At Step 4 of the upgrade you may get an error about a file being locked.

Solution: Reboot - then "sudo apt update" will execute fine.

Note 2: glibc will trigger an error screen ...

Solution: Click on "q" and let the update continue.

Note 3: A banner across the screen fusses about screensaver and something else.

Solution: Hit Enter to continue

Note 4: calendar will trigger an error screen ...

Solution: Click on "q" and let the update continue.

Ooops! Not good ...

"Unpacking zip (3.0-12) over (3.0-11+b1) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
  /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-1uu6f4/134-ffmpeg_10%3a4.4-dmo4_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dkpg returned an error code (1)"

Not sure where to go from here ...

Have you installed ffplay? Try to remove it first. Or install ffmpeg lonely and check what's going on.
This probably related to the deb-multimedia's package, you can just remove them temporary, I think they'll be fixed soon.
