Title: Hello to all
Post by: mhgrove on May 24, 2018, 06:08:37 AM
I am a total Linux noobie. Actually still have not even successfully installed Sparky GameOver on my old PC, but am trying. Seems like a solid community, looking forward to learning more and hopefully contributing at some point

Welcome.  So you are new to Linux - then make it simpler and easier.  Go with Sparky4 - not Sparky 5.  Since your computer is not new, you will have very little gains and more things you have to learn and deal with using Sparky5.

How much ram?  If 2 gb or less - go with the 32 bit version and not the 64 bit.  If 4 gb let others talk about 32 versus 64 mb - the GameOver is often used for game playing via wine, etc.  Multi-arch has improved greatly in the Debian base, but sometimes ...    The main thing is - what do you want to do with your computer and are you looking to learn and if so, what areas are you looking to learn in.

peace out.
