Title: Crunchbang living on
Post by: Chdslv on June 22, 2015, 08:12:56 AM
Crunchbang appears to have a live dvd. I found it in http://sourceforge.net/projects/crunchbangmonara/
There is only a 64 bit one yet. Going to download it and check it out. Nice to see that nimble distro back. It appears to have been created by one person.

But, corenominal had moved on, not to another Linux distro, but to Windows. Strange!

Linux has everything except this, something that is not preloaded in Windows but is readily available for money, more and more also advanced softwares+games.

Maintaining Clean OS, clean Windows OS is a terrible mess, but so much pirated options, too good to resist.

It's good.  So is Semplice:

http://semplice-linux.org/

But I use Sparky Openbox.

The difference is #!++ is based on Debian Stable, and Semplice is based on Debian Unstable.  But both are dedicated to Openbox and Sparky has it as an adjunct to LXDE and LXQt, I believe.  But I have found Sparky to be the most complete for what I do.  (Your needs may vary).  I have not been able to get Wine working on either, for instance, even though I added the Sparky Repository to both so I could add Sparky's Wine Envelope, which works just fine on Sparky.

It's Sparky's extra, functional utilities that makes it the best Debian derivative (including Ubuntu).

Use the Sparky USB Creator to burn the iso's to a usb flash thumb drive.  I installed Semplice from one to another usb flash thumb and it runs fine from there for someone who just wants to navigate on the inet and do light word processing.

For using internet a Linux Web Kiosk Disto will do but, the options are sooo limited.

Sparkylinux is best if you are just internet user.

You can use Iceweasel + Pipelight - Windows plugins

For a GENERAL PURPOSE DISTRO Sparkylinux is the the the besssst.

"World's best Linux distro" has 15 letters so does " Sparkyyyyylinux ".
