Title: [SOLVED] Should I Install the Proprietary Video Driver?
Post by: LaneLester on September 20, 2015, 11:29:46 PM
I'm a Sparky-LXQT newbie, but a Linux oldie. I've installed a lot of Debian-type distros, and I am very pleased with this one. Although I have several in partitions on my main hard drive, I think Sparky is going to serve as my main system.

Exploring the system, I clicked on Preferences / Device Driver Manager and saw this available for install:
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Kabini

The video is working OK now with the two monitors I have connected to the AMD Radeon chip in my desktop PC. Do you think I would gain anything by installing the above driver?

My point is clear: if something works - don't try to fix it over :)
