Hello, I´ve been a sparky user for some years. I would love to try this Bonsai on a lot of old functional machines out there.
The thing is I am in South America in Argentina, 2.1 download wont even start, 2.0 is downloading at 16 to 32 KB/s and an ETA for finishing of 6 to 8 hours :-(
Could there be some faster server please? I have a rapidgator account and google drive also. Can download very fast from those.

Sparky applications / Problem with Distribution Temp...

I cannot install Fsearch.  I keep getting error message:  aptsources.distro.NoDistroTemplateException: Error: could not find a distribution template for Sparky/orion-belt
   
one person said to:     apt remove software-properties-gtk    but that did absolutely   nothing !

so how can i fix this ?   

i ran :     sudo add-apt-repository ppa:christian-boxdoerfer/fsearch-stable
            sudo apt update
              sudo apt install fsearch

nothing works

Is it possible to determine the reason why the installed softaware cannot be found in the main menu? Can it be related with the fact that the installed system is MATE of 7.1 level?

Merhaba,
Uzunca bir süredir Debian ve Debian tabanlı dağıtımlar kullanıyorum.
Özellikle MX Linux'ü çok uzunca bir süre kullandım ancak stabil sürüm güncellemeleri uzun periyodlar alıyor paketlerde özellikle.
Ben de semi-rolling ve rolling sürümler ararken Sparky ile tanıştım. Yaklaşık 2 senedir Sparky Testing XFCE kullanıyorum. Müthiş memnunum ancak artık rolling bi dağıtım bakınıyorum.
Artık Sid tabanında da 3. bi dağıtım daha çıkarsalar inanın bütün arayışım sona ericek. Sparky cidden her türlü ihtiyacımı karşılıyor ancak tek eksikliğini hissettiğim rolling olması
İsteğim bir şekilde developerlara ulaşırsa çok mutlu olurum. Umarım artık bi rolling sürüm de gelir : )

Merhaba,
Repo'ya eklenmesini istediğimiz uygulamaları nereye istek olarak atabiliyoruz forum üzerinde?
Misal chromium tabanlı iridium browser ve decentr browser'ı repo'ya eklerlerse çok mutlu olurum.
Ancak bu tarz istekleri nereye yapabiliriz bulamadım
Yardımcı olabilirseniz sevinirim

Installed the latest SL KDE version on an old Dell Inspiron 1420 which has a rather dimm display.When trying to install brightnes-controller from a ppa I got the follow result:

admin1@inspiron1420:~$ sudo apt-cache search brigtness-controller
admin1@inspiron1420:~$   sudo add-apt-repository ppa:apandada1/brightness-controller
sudo: add-apt-repository: command not found
admin1@inspiron1420:~$

Does this mean I need to install an 'add-apt-repository' feature? Anyone know a solution?

Of course, use the official debian repositories. That's why they exist. And not crap for UbuntuTard.
