Title: [solved] virtualbox kernel service notification on startup
Post by: MintChipMadness on July 09, 2015, 07:53:11 AM
Hi Everyone,
I have one minor annoyance I was hoping someone could help me with. I am running sparky 4.0 xfce 64. Everytime I login I get a notification that says something like "the virtualbox kernel service is not running: exiting". I uninstalled all the packages for virtualbox as well as disabled any services related to virtualbox but I still get the message. Any ideas how to get the message to stop? Thank you for your help.

Best Regards,
MintChipMadness

It used to show when running the system from hard drive instead of virtual drive.
Uninstalling 'virtualbox-guest-utils' package and all its dependencies should stop printing the message.
Are you sure you don't have it?

I see what happened. I didn't do a complete removal of virtualbox-guest-X11. All the other virtual box packages had complete removals except that one. Problem solved. Thank you.
