I tried to install "compton". Search revealed it has been replaced by "picom".
Any suggestion for a compositor for Sparky LXQT?

Compton hasn't been developed for years now, but it should still be part of debian repo. Run

What it says?

Picom is compton fork under development but unfortunately there is no Debian package for it (afaik).

It stated, it couldn't find package:

Thats interesting. Debian tracker clearly states that compton is available.

What apt policy compton says?
Copy and paste here content of /etc/apt/sources.list file.

The 'picom' package built yesterday so is coming to Sparky repos.
