hi,
I have installed SparkyLinux 4.6.1 STB Xfce on my new laptop. Want to thank the Sparky team for this wonderful distro. Everything is working fine except one issue that keeps recurring. The OS freezes randomly and since I installed it has occured at least four times. Please look into this and rectify it. Except this issue I am really enjoying this Debian Stable based distro.
The specifications of my laptop are as follows
Machine: Device: laptop System: ASUSTeK product: X540LA v: 1.0

Thanking you in advance.
Have you looked at anything with "journalctl"
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-journalctl-to-view-and-manipulate-systemd-logs
Stable - also check out the Debian forum for any similar issues - much wider user base - more eyes.
"journalctl -b 0" shows your present logs
"journalctl -b 1" would show your previous log Problems would be at the end.
"journalctl -b 1 | grep ailed" would show all entries that have "Failed" or "failed" in them.
What were you doing just prior to the freeze? What programs were you running. Were you able to go to a virtual terminal? Ctl-Alt-F1 would put you into virtual teminal 1, Ctl-Alt-F7 puts you back in the desktop - de. Maybe run htop in virtual terminal and see if you have any stuck processes going at 100%. Is your root partition getting full ("df" would show).
Please post data output with the tags - # button above
Myself (and other forums) do like inxi example.
inxi -v2
