Title: Printer Installed but not Printing
Post by: dhinds on October 30, 2015, 07:06:48 PM
I recently purchased an HP Deskjet 1115 (a small printer for travel).  It installed easily via CUPS and appears in "Print Settings" of the Sparky Linux Center and the applications show the printer but it doesn't print and no print job appears in the Queue. This printer is a new model.

So something is missing.  (Fedora 22 Xfce prints with it). But Sparky Ultra Openbox is my main OS on this main desktop computer and I need to be able to print.  Any ideas? (I already safely upgraded the system).

Thanks in advance.

Personally I had troubles in the past with HP printers and CUPS and usually I was installing hplip drivers provided by HP. Also, hplip included in Debian repos didn't work so I had to download them from HP website. This might not be the case any more as I managed to install my current Deskjet printer without resolving to hplip.
