Hola fui a arrancar mi Sparky Linux Game Over edition como de costumbre y me encontré con el siguiente mensaje de error:

"Failed to start light display manager"

pulsé CTRL+ALT+F2 e introduje el comando:

systemctl status lightdpm

Y me devolvió: (al parecer el tal proceso 674 ExecStart obtiene un exit status de 1:)

lightdm.service - Light Display Manager
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/lightdm.service;enabled;vendor preset:enabled)
Active: failed (Result:exit-code) SinceSun 2022-06-12 17:34 CEST;1hr 55min left
Docs: man:lightdm(1)
Process: 674 ExecStart=/usr/sbon/lightdm (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
mAIN pid: 674 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
CPU: 62ms

Alguna sugerencia sobre cómo solucionar el problema? Gracias un saludo!

I have installed SparkyLinux (testing) on my machine. I will, in the next day, share screenshots of the three Desktops I have installed in single posts here. My three three desktops are all running in a single user-space. If anyone should desire the scripts I use to build my desktops, simply let me know.

Here is my i3wm desktop using (showing) SparkyLinux, j4-dmenu-desktop, conky (2 conkies), conkybar, and st (suckless terminal).

Is there a way to tell the Advanced installer to NOT format but skip to try and get past these problems?

SolvedLooks like overheating on mPCIe SATA in CARRIER inside laptop bay.

I have  HP xe4400 1gb ram 32 gb ssd mSATA
this is an i686 download of sparky on a USB created with uNetbootin
having to start in failsafe

I am told I needed more than 1gb free ram to install... so I chose Advanced Installer and got further.

Now checking my memory with Clonezilla memtest86+...

No memory errors and tested laptop as PAE which is the opposite of what I thought.

Attempted to partition 16GB / 10GB for /home and 4GB swap
Gparted would hang on 1. formatting sda2 2. starting from scratch (long boot) then hung in the middle of mkfs sda1

after formatting with Xubuntu GPARTED no problems, now a third time hanging now on sda2 again and trying to reformat.

I want to try skipping format and just start installing after that.

Caveat: Now my laptop has no battery but I am using an 85watt PS to try and avoid drops in current which can hang a computer.

sparky-install on CLI ended with sophisicated error message with key identifier of sector on SSD #34521088

so now switching to ANOTHER NEW 32GB mSATA in IDE adapter 44pin

Probably overheating on mPCIe SATA in CARRIER inside laptop bay.  Using simple HD and have no errors yet.

Will have to get a real PATA.   Evidently mSATA are designed for air gaps around it.

So I have this issue where when I'm playing a game, say vrchat, or recording something in Firefox, my output audio is merged with my input audio. And it becomes really annoying especially when people mute me in-game for horrible mic echo. Is there any known way to fix this? I spent hours messing with alsa, and pulseaudio config files to no avail. It seems that the mic/headphone jack duplex is registered as only one device in pulseaudio if that makes any sense, because when I pipe the audio through my TV this issue doesn't occur, but when it's piped through my headphones it does occur, and I would rather play with my headphones because I don't want my family hearing me talk to people in-game

I installed the newest sparky kernel today.
I have got this info: Spectre v2 eIBRS with unprevileged eBPF when I use sparky kernel 5.18.1.

After installation, I couldn't log into my user account. Information appeared:
BusyBox v1.30.1 (debian1:1.30.1-7+b3) bulit-in shell (ash)
Enter "help" for a list built-in commands.

So far I have used the linux-image-5.17.0-1-amd64 kernel and didn't get this warning.
