With the great amount of generous help from people here, searching ask ubuntu, radio reference forums, and ##rtlsdr (freenode) I have installed and using OP25, DSD 1.7 and Wine to run the windows app DSD+ Fastlane 2.186. All run stable. These apps require a continuous stream from a usb device called a RTL-SDR, Can be heavy load in I/O and cpu cycles. Sparky says :no problemo"!
