New to Sparky.  How to delete the three desktop icons in MATE?

Install dconf-editor with synaptic.
Then go to org/mate/caja/desktop and disable what you not want to see on desktop.

When doing that work now, "MATE Tweak" is more convenient than that.
Package name: mate-tweak

The list displayed by MATE Tweak is very simple,
you can work more comfortably.
