Title: Trinity Desktop won't start after installing on Minimal GUI 32 bit
Post by: ShowsOn on May 20, 2021, 01:47:28 AM
Hello,

I don't know if this counts as an installation or desktop issue, so I decided to post in here.

I installed the Minimal GUI 32 bit stable version on an old Celeron M laptop with 2 GB of RAM.

I did a system update straight after install which worked fine. I then rebooted.

I then used APTus to install the Trinity Desktop environment. The installation seemed to work fine without any errors. It then ended and explained that I need to log out and log back in so that Trinity will load for the first time. I tried doing this but the default GUI was still loaded.

I also tried rebooting but again it is still loading the default GUI rather than Trinity.

How do I get Trinity to load as the default desktop?

Thanks

Somewhere on the login screen there will be an icon or drop down list that allows you to select the session you want.

Find it, click it, select Trinity Desktop (TDE) and you should be good to go.
