Title: New install, no internet
Post by: yaqiao on February 04, 2018, 12:36:37 AM
Hi,
I just reinstalled Sparky.  I connect to the internet by wifi through the network manager on XFCE.  It tells me I am connected to my router, but I cannot update, use firefox, etc.
I have rebooted and the wifi connects fine (94% signal) but still the system, including aptus, shows no internet.
Any advice for this 32 bit system would be welcome as I did not have this problem on an earlier install.

Booted a third time, from recovery mode, and now it is updating.
Let me finish the updates, and reboot in regular mode to see if things are working.

Rebooted after updates and network access seems fine.

If solved, please edit the Subject line.

For other problems in future, it is nice to get more information, especially information supplied by the computer if possible, with output marked up as code.  That can be difficult however when the network is down, transferring text from one computer to another..

For finding network problems I am leaning more and more on "ip"  No more ifconfig for me.

peace out.
