Title: [Solved] Firefox ugly font rendering
Post by: Oulik on January 21, 2022, 05:49:29 PM
Hope you can help.

I am running Sparky Linux 7 XFCE edition fully updated. Monitor is 1920 x 1080 (normal full HD)
Several webpages look quite ugly with Firefox, but OK with Google Chrome or Edge.
So it is not the monitor or the hardware, it has something to do with Firefox / font rendering I think

For example, if you go to the Ninite site it can easily be seen what I mean. (There are more sites which look a bit ugly)

There are several solutions described on the Internet, but I am a bit worried to just mess around with settings etc.

What can I do?

I can see that page, which you comment on, perfectly well:

I have mentioned this issue previously but to no avail.

Open terminal
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
Accept all defaults
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig
This will rebuild the font cache
Reboot
All should be well in FF
