Post by: paius on August 11, 2014, 07:23:26 PM
Just installed the latest SparkyLinux 32bit beside an existing LMDE install.

1.  The grub menu didn't change
2.  I lost my firefox profile

Hi
QuoteThe grub menu didn't change
Login to sparky installation and run:
sudo update-grub
QuoteI lost my firefox profile
How did you install sparky? Have you used existing home partition and the same user name as you had in LMDE?

Sorry for the delay, reinstalled Sparky and grub updated; however, I still feel it would be kinder to inform people that a new default "Iceweasel" profile will be created.

There is no reason to do that. It's standard procedure and every new installation will provide a new profile.
You didn't answer for ma question:

Anyway if you'd like to use the Iceweasel settings from one system to another one you have to make backup of the old settings and recover it after fresh installation. You can use 'sparky-backup-apps' tool for that for example.
