Title: Re: LSB
Post by: MoroS on May 02, 2014, 12:57:03 PM
We should include the full system/LSB braning as a part of plans for 2014. Time to get rid of the "Debian" string and move to the proper distribution name (but we should retain the "powered by Debian", so I'll take that into account). It may go into the "Others" section as I don't have a specific time frame for it yet. ;)

I have put /etc/lsb-release file for Sparky 3.3. System is detected as Sparky not Debian, but...

It made a new problem, somebody put it on the forum already.

If the system uses my lsb-release file, it needs proper Sparky template.

You can't run Synaptic-> Settings-> Repositories option or 'software-properties-gtk' command.

The output message is:

Code:

Error: could not find a distribution template for Sparky/testing

I have removed 'lsb-release' file now, but I'd like to put it back if anyone knows how to fix it.

Oh. Missed that one, but while the LSB release info is the way to go, there are other things to change also (plus the problems you mentioned), but I think this should go to a different thread to keep the future plans post clean.

Good. Then we'll be able to make the branding complete soon. I have it in my task list already. ;)

Since I'm getting closer to completing the installer changes and the target EFI32 ISO, I would like to include the LSB information aswell. Is it already included in any ISO image? If not, could you send me your modifications, so I can include them in my changeset? ;)
