Title: Super Start Menu
Post by: mrlen on July 05, 2022, 07:17:15 AM
Sparky Linux is awesome. One thing that would make it even more awesome would be to make the start menu open by pressing the super key.

Oh, I understand now. It will conflict with other programs, as per this video:

https://www.arcolinuxd.com/17-how-to-set-the-super-key-on-xfce-to-open-the-whisker-menu/

Just go to Start Menu > (search) Keyboard > Application Shortcuts > Enter: xfce4-popup-whiskermenu (then hit super key)

But I say to hell with those other programs. People expect the start menu or search to open when you hit the super key.

MX Linux maps the super key to open the start menu by default. (It's not unheard of. I bet other distros do too, but that's the only one I have access to right now.).

A user has to think to do this, but I right clicked on the Welcome menu item and added it to my bottom task panel.
