Title: anyone install to a z20t protege?
Post by: J.Jay on February 18, 2017, 04:12:13 PM
Getting a used Toshiba protege z20t.
Want to wipe the Windows (10 I believe) off and install Linux (preferably 'Sparky'.

Anyone have experience with this model?
Not sure if traditional 'BIOS' or 'EFI'  :o

Thank You

##1. First - hit the right key on bootup and view your bios settings. ## Oh, you do not have it in hand yet.

2.  Do a search for your model in various forms of linux, starting with Debian.  Then maybe Ubuntu

3.  Investigate the hardware online.

The user base of linux users and Debian users is at least 1000 times the numbers of Sparky users.   Do the math, do the search.

Have searched :P

seems to run on Arch. Debian has little info (hibernation/suspend not working and touch and mouse flaky) ubuntu has about the same as debian
Thought I'd ask on 'sparky forums' usually friendly and my distro of choice!
