Desktops / Re: CDE fonts
Last post by ogis - February 06, 2023, 07:33:56 PM
Since Motif 2.3 it has been possible to use the XFT font renderer for Motif widgets, allowing anti-aliasing and greatly improving the visual display of fonts.

Whilst CDE doesn't yet use this, it is definitely an interesting option. This has not been well tested in CDE and is likely to have "issues".

QuoteIs that the default UI that TwisterOS uses ?

I am not sure what ya mean.

As an experiment I installed Sparky in virtualbox clean and without addin the TwisterUI themes.  Only added items after install was neofetch and Nala-legacy.

Again I went into the Settings Manager and then the advanced tab and unticked all ticked items and closed the window.  I may be doin somethin wrong because I still get the effect movin a window to the top or sides has the effect of maximizing or placin the window in a rectangle on either side.

The isue may not be either Sparky nor TwisterUI but rather I am missin somethin or I am not disablin the right items.  I won't be blamin the system if the error is mine.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I got that part :-D

I skimmed your original message to quickly and posted advise to turn the snapping off using the window manager settings (and you wrote that you already done that, hence I change my message).

In standard sparky XFCE desktop changing those settings in window manager does the trick.

QuoteSO is there a way to disable completely the snapping?
It sounds to me like TwisterUI is ignoring XFCE window manager settings. Unfortunately I have no experience with TwisterUI. I was unable to find detailed configuration settings of TwisterUI online.

Is that the default UI that TwisterOS uses ?

It isn't off.  It still happens.  When I move window and it hits the top it goes full.  When it hits the sides it makes it snap to a rectangle along the wall.  This is extremely annoyin.  Yeah I can do my best not to hit the edges, but still would be nice to completely disable the feature.  I already was able to disable completely the laptop trackpad.  Phew.  SO is there a way to disable completely the snapping?

Newbie questions / WIndow Snapping
Last post by Norby Droid - February 05, 2023, 02:56:43 AM
Is there a way to stop the Window snapping in Sparky Linux?  I went lookin around online and in settings before I came here,  I unchecked everything under Window Manager but it doesn't seem to do anything.  Also I installed TwisterUI and don't know if this snapping is a part of the twister behavior or not.  Anyways I hope someone can help.  Thanks.

I am runnin Sparky Linux 6 xfce on a Lenovo Yoga 730 if that info is needed.

1. Do you have any other desktop than Xfce installed?
2. Show me an output of the command:
