Title: Audacious has extra (unwanted) preview feature
Post by: pccobbler on July 02, 2020, 11:13:50 PM
I always install VLC for movies and Audacious for music. I do the latter because it plays WMA Lossless, something not all media players will do (VLC plays them but hiccups for a split-second on starting). I recently built a MATE system on Intel 3rd Generation hardware. I noticed that Audacious has a preview feature that plays music as long as the cursor is held over the file icon. I don't like this feature, as it interferes with a normal double-click to play. And if a song is playing and I roll the cursor over another song  in Caja, sometimes I hear a scratch-sound.

I did not see any way to disable this feature. Can it be disabled?

UPDATE: I also have a Sparky Openbox system on a USB flash drive. I tried Audacious and it does not have the annoying behavior. I assume by this that Audacious from the static repository is okay, while the rolling release one has the annoying behavior.

I'm returning to LXDE from oldstable.
