Newbie questions / Pi4 HDMI setting incorrect on ...

The issue: I have a 4 way splitter on HDMI0 that is connecting to 4 identical monitors running 1920 1080. Good quality vga cables are already in place to run the 4 remote monitors, and the HDMI to vga converter is obviously before the splitter. It all works fine..but.....
On boot, despite me specifying in raspi-config and /boot/config.txt to specifically use group 2 and mode 16, the desktop ends up running at 1280 1024. Somewhere along the way, I am guessing that the splitter or converter says back to the Pi that the resolution is 1280 and an auto-config running after the boot process adjusts output to that. If I then manually go into Monitor Settings I can set the resolution to full HD and all the monitors display correctly! But I can't get that setting to stick after reboot..something interferes with it.
I'm hoping that someone may know the easy solution. But if not...... I think a little script to set the monitors to the full HD a few seconds after reaching the desktop is a definite solution. I'm no expert and don't know where to put the command to make this happen, and also the structure of such a script. I think it would be referenced/initiated from/in /home/pi/.config/openbox/autostart.sh and have a delay of perhaps 10 seconds before working.
I tried for hours last night to get somewhere on this issue by changing settings without luck, so unless someone knows the reason, and easy method to change the setting on reaching desktop, I would really appreciate guidance on the script structure, activation and location.

it installs but does NOT show up in the menu and won't run in the
terminal ...even though it says installed.

System upgrading / [SOLVED] Upgrade loop

I am told updates exist, the back/forth gui "busy" indicator occurs (updating repositories), then a console window pops up, 20 lines quickly appear, that window disappears (and then the whole thing starts again.
If I choose "show changelog" (whatever that option is called, instead of "upgrade"), it shows a lot of upgrades that should occur. But, when I choose "upgrade" the back/forth busy indicator appears (updating repositories), then the console window which shows 20 lines and disappears.
I have to choose "exit" for this to stop.

QuotePPAs are indeed for Ubuntu. Precisely, for some version of Ubuntu. Using PPA would be like using Ubuntu deb repository while beeing on Debian. From unstable to totally broken. Dependencies are likely to be not satisfied, package from Debian can become broken , more and more problems... Just.. don't do it. If you want ppas, use Ubuntu or Ubuntu based distros. For debian, use debian repositories or (to have something similar to ppas, with same security and privacy recommendations) add third-party repositories targetting your Debian release (yes, it exists).

The thing is I am in South America in Argentina, 2.1 download wont even start, 2.0 is downloading at 16 to 32 KB/s and an ETA for finishing of 6 to 8 hours :-(
Could there be some faster server please? I have a rapidgator account and google drive also. Can download very fast from those.

one person said to: apt remove software-properties-gtk but that did absolutely nothing !
so how can i fix this ?

Uzunca bir süredir Debian ve Debian tabanlı dağıtımlar kullanıyorum.
Özellikle MX Linux'ü çok uzunca bir süre kullandım ancak stabil sürüm güncellemeleri uzun periyodlar alıyor paketlerde özellikle.
Ben de semi-rolling ve rolling sürümler ararken Sparky ile tanıştım. Yaklaşık 2 senedir Sparky Testing XFCE kullanıyorum. Müthiş memnunum ancak artık rolling bi dağıtım bakınıyorum.
Artık Sid tabanında da 3. bi dağıtım daha çıkarsalar inanın bütün arayışım sona ericek. Sparky cidden her türlü ihtiyacımı karşılıyor ancak tek eksikliğini hissettiğim rolling olması
İsteğim bir şekilde developerlara ulaşırsa çok mutlu olurum. Umarım artık bi rolling sürüm de gelir : )

Misal chromium tabanlı iridium browser ve decentr browser'ı repo'ya eklerlerse çok mutlu olurum.
Ancak bu tarz istekleri nereye yapabiliriz bulamadım
