I have found out that for plank, which is used in lxqt, has gone to "gsettings" for versions 0.11 and for the future. You cannot edit behaviour of plank at the the config files any more.
For me, to get away from having my plank on the bottom, I have had to install dconf-tools. Then using dconf-editor I was able to change the icon sizes and placement of the plank bar. In gtk based desktops it would be installed automatically. Peace out.
edit: There is another way to edit your preferences. "plank --preferences" However for me, with qterminal full screen, it was not popping up, the gui stayed hidden behind other open windows.
