I have two Dell Latitude C840 laptops. I installed 4.2 LXDE on one and LXQT on the other for comparison reasons. I can adjust the monitor settings on the LXDE laptop, but the LXQT laptop always defaults back to 1600x1200 resolution after reboot even though I went through the save process. Both have 1 GB of RAM. Any ideas?
It doesn't work properly in the LXQt desktop yet.
Have to wait for devs fixing.
For LXQT a good resource is irc. Go to Freenode #lxde for help with lxqt. Just for further info, if you need help for LXDE go to OFTC #lxde. They might ask for "inxi -G" to a pastebin for your video card info.
To view LXQT bugs (or to file a bug report) go to https://github.com/LXDE/lxqt/issues
I run lxde on stable Debian and lxqt on testing-unstable. If you like LXDE and are not waiting impatiently for Wayland, there is nothing wrong with LXDE, support is not going to disappear for a couple of years at least. If you like to watch the evolution of lxde onto the Qt5 base with a small but competent team of developers, the ride is fairly smooth with lxqt. The repositories for lxqt have moved from Siduction to Debian in the last few months.
On my netbook I have only 1024*600 on an atom cpu with testing-Sparky and an Intel 945GSE. I can't help with the size issue. Peace out.
