The author does appear to be shifting gear on support. On the above git page is the announcement of his more supported (I believe) python version. Earliest commit on bash version - 6 months, python version commits 9 and 18 days ago.

I do the ubuntu/debian ppas for expressvpn, spideroak and virtualbox - however I am always reticent to use ppas geared mostly to Ubuntu, but of course simpler and less dependencies ppas will often work. Glad to see it worked for you. I will probably stick with htop in terminal and a conky running. peace out
