I like the Debian 12 splash too almost as much as the Sparky Splash. I chose to allow the change the second or third time around as I got tired of the prompts during routine updates. Love the Blue color schema of Sparky, it is so Debian. Thanks pavroo and devs!

At what point of booting into SparkyLinux did you get stuck? Also, what version of Sparky are you using, semirolling or stable? I'm guilty of omitting this myself. More information is still useful.

I don't have any solutions or explanations for you, however, I am as curious about the problem you experiences as I'm sure others may also be. More information would still be very useful even though your problem is thankfully [Solved]!

Good job!

  Please do the following:

* Open the ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml file, with the editor you usually use.

* Use the 'search' option of the editor. And search for the entry <showIcons>yes</showIcons>  in the whole file
(... there is only one entry, at the end of the file)

* When you find it you edit it, changing 'yes' to 'no' (<showIcons>no</showIcons>)

* Save changes and close:

* Using the OpenBox Menu
- OpenBox >> Reconfigure

Lign 760 RC.XML =
default menu file (or custom one in $HOME/. config/openbox
system menu files on Debian systems <file>/var/lib/openbox/debian-menu.xml</file>

You must edit the ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml file to disable menu icons:

<showIcons>no</showIcons>

Hardware / Docked Laptop, wrong Desktop
Last post by Martin A. - March 12, 2023, 09:29:11 AM
Bug:

When docked with lid shut, Sparky starts with an extension Desktop, regardless of saved monitor settings.

There are then no menus to operate the system or make it the main desktop therfore Sparky is unusable and needs to be forcefully shut down.

Other Debian based, live tools I've tested have the same problem, so I understand if the Sparky team can't fix it. Maybe they can get Debian to fix it or at least add a right mouse menu to change desktop back to main.

Thanks.

Sparky Linux kernel / Removing kernels
Last post by Martin A. - March 12, 2023, 09:15:03 AM
Hello everyone.

The mask for loading kernels is not showing which ones are already installed. I tried Liquorix and Xan but there is no list allowing me to uninstall and clean up.
Why is that?
And is there a set of command line instructions to remove all different types of kernels?

I've seen of course "remove old kernel" but it's inadequate.

Thanks

System upgrading / sparky not starting any more
Last post by spark2021 - March 11, 2023, 10:53:54 PM
Solved/Deleted - seems the problem was the update used too much  disk space. After deleting some files, sparky started again.
