You can try to install "patched wine' from their repos.
Anyway Liquorix repo offers wine 1.8 - the repo is preconfigured in sparky. What you need to do is enable it.

I have checked the latest makulu iso and there are all the same wine packages you can find in debian repos (and sparky standard installations).
So Liquorix repos provide newer versions off all wine packages for sure.
