Yo Edjog...
Great to connect... New here myself, yet looking to fire up some powerful new Sparks in this little community... Glad to see you feel similar... Aptus is great, and well needed in Linux... XFCE is as well... Not sure what KISS is about, yet you have me curious now... Welcome aboard...

Yo Sysstb... Great to connect... Similar, I've played with Puppy... Recently played with AntiX-MX as well as many other distros... To compare where "Linux" is... and heading.... Easily settling on Sparky, as the most well taken care of Linux Distro... New here, yet feel this is a great base, and hopefully a like minded community on many projects... Like, "Live-Drives" and potentially start integrating AppImages into an Apt Repository... As I feel this is whats missing in Linux as a whole... May you and I both find a home here at Sparky...

Thanks for joining in, here... ;)

Hey y'all...

Big thank you for all your work on this awesome project... It's surely the number one distro, because of the obvious, long hard efforts in the repos...

I defiantly will enjoy getting involved in assisting Sparky move forward...

One essential step I've been using for years, distributing and curious about, is "Partition Persistence" as it's served me and many well for many years... Creating tiny to massive squash-fs systems from 500mb all the way up to my largest "Gaming Live Drive" of 69GB~SQFS... Epic stuff, as all I've needed to do is clone systems... Most all my previous efforts were build with L-Ubuntu~Systemback, only having to change the boot codes, adding "persistent" then adding a small partition labelled "casper-rw"... Thus making hundreds of Cutting edge "frugal" installs on any PC, Drive, or Situation... Years have passed, time to upgrade and build on this, and many other great topics that I feel will benefit many Sparky users, as well as the Linux community as a whole... I appreciate you time and all your efforts, looking forward to assisting in many aspects as surely there are many others on the same page...

Thanks Again,
Bartman...

Quote from: yosoyese on September 15, 2023, 12:08:05 AMSparky 7.1 Xfce just installed.

In Sparky, Grub-Customizer only recognizes its own system partition. It is unable to recognize other systems installed in my computer. It doesn't happen in my other systems (including Sparky 6).

See: Sparky 7.1 Orion Belt

Have you already tried making this modification in grub?

But, a next updating of GRUB packages override the option.
To fix that manually, add the line:
GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false
on the end of the file (as root):
/etc/default/grub
Then update grub:
sudo update-grub

Today isn't your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either.

I don't remember me asking about your opinions.
I wish I could have as much time as you to input into other people's business.

System upgrading / cannot install gcc after upgra...
Last post by COVID0 - September 13, 2023, 06:42:57 AM
I upgraded a PC from 5.16 to 6.7, and noticed that gcc is absent after upgrade. So tried to install compilers with build-essential and got this:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libr0 : Depends: libbinutils (< 2.31.2) but 2.35.2-2 is to be installed
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

I have no idea what libr0 is. Google and Bing turn up nothing about it.
