[ Solved ] Can't download video from keepvid on Linux Chrome Java plugin absent

https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topicsearchin/chrome/java$20plugin$20linux%7Csort:relevance/chrome/6bx2P2X2oio

For Java and other NPAPI plugins in current Linux Chrome, there is no way to run them.  And this will be the same for all Chromes by 2015 when all support for NPAPI is removed.  See also:  http://blog.chromium.org/2014/11/the-final-countdown-for-npapi.html  -  The Final Countdown for NPAPI

If you absolutely need to run webpages that require Java, you will need to use another browser.

It takes so much time to download videos and update java occasionally when using keepvid. So you can try software to avoid those things:

The most reliable you tube downloader is pmytd.  Install ffmpeg and youtube-dl from the repositories, and then get Hakerdefo's https://github.com/hakerdefo/pmytd  Poor Man's Youtube Downloader/ (pmytd) as a front-end.
