Sorry, I'm sure you get WiFi questions fairly often and I've looked through a good amount of them but each one starts with running code in the terminal to see which firmware you need for your computer. But when I run "lspci | grep Network" or "lspci -nn | grep Network" literally nothing pops up and it just sends me to the next line in the terminal. Any help would be greatly appreciated because my laptop won't boot from a live usb, so I'm pretty much stuck with Sparky. So if I can't get WiFi working then I am basically going to have to get a new laptop.

1.  Do you have an ethernet cable and a connection on your laptop?

2. try just "lspci"  (note the "   "  are to highlight the text needed.  Pick out the appropriate output and post.

3.  The previous comment appears directed for Windows installations, I would not use.

4.  I can't say how much of a fan of inxi I am. If you wish  "sudo apt install inxi"  after plugging in the ethernet
4.1 Post output of "inxi -bxr"
Search forum for "More info easier via inxi"    If requested -  no inxi, no help for you by  me.
