System upgrading / Wine on Trixie
Last post by LMa - Today at 01:45:25 PM
Hello,

I need Wine and Mono installed for Cambam who's an application to create projects before use them on CNC.
I have it on the stable version on the precedent mini PC who work, but when i tried to install it on Trixie this morning i have a weird issue.
I installed Wine normally on the command line. But i seen that wine32 wasn't installed with, even if the both environments x86_64 and 32bits are present because steam work on the new machine, so i did the necessary preamble for that work.
Anyway, i tried to install Wine32 since the command line too, and i had a big surprise... To install Wine32 apt indicate to me that many applications would be deleted ?
I join a text file where i put some comments and, important, where the terminal redirected all lines of this install.
I a bit surprised that install. of Wine32 need to interact with some applications like atril, sparky-update, maybe it's something other. So i let all like that, even no finished the Wine config.
I must say that i don't know really Trixie. I use it only since some days because i didn't found the way to make my chipset Realtek 8852BE for WiFi 6 working on the stable version. So without WiFi it was really annoying.

File on Google drive : install for Wine32

Thanks to any help, link or whatever to help me
Cheers

Hello all,

Well i found a solution i created 3 links about the Samba folders shared and mounted on particular folders in system on the desktop.
Since i post the question it seems OK, working good, but :
IMPORTANT :
If ever a shared folder didn't mount correctly for any reason we haven't information about the icon, because it's not a dynamic link created by the OS. like usually with movable disk or USB key etc.

I don't put that like Solved in title, i think there is a problem about that i had never seen it on the stable with the older mini PC. Even now if i turn On the old mini Pc it's working efficiently like that my shared folders appear on the desktop and they are greyed if i do "sudo umount -a" in terminal.

Thanks in advance for any help, reply.
Have nice day

Desktops / Sparky "testing" XFCE, Samba m...

Hello,

Not newbie on Sparky Linux, i use it since a while with Sparky Linux 6 to begun.
First, thank you for this good version of XFCE, who's really easy to customize for every people. It's not the case on all distributions some time XFCE haven't all methods to customize it, that's annoying.

Recently i bought a new mini PC, an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS, so  my precedent, that i kept, is an ACEPC with less memory, space disk on nvme etc. But i can compare the OS it's the same only stable version.
My problem is a bit weird, because the new machine have a Wifi 6 Realteck 8852BE integrated i'd needed to use the "testing" iso to install, with the stable the kernel haven't the module to use this chipset so no Wifi. Anyway that's work but any samba shared folders are mounted by the fstab without problem but they never appear on the desktop ?
On the old mini PC they are showed, always. Maybe it's only on the "testing" version ?
Any idea what i did not well ?
Thanks for the help.

Have a nice day all

System upgrading / Re: Gameover

Thanks for the reply. I suspected that the workload along with other priorities was responsible. I have noticed over several years that the special editions usually took several days or more to be updated so it was clear that they were not high on the priority list. I really like the completeness of the gaming edition packages and I hope that it can get caught up to the others if/when you find some time.

Finally, it has been fixed. And now, works fine and without any problem:

Thanks, anyway ....

Edit.- I forgot to comment that in this case, it wasn't a user issue.
It was a problem with OpenWeatherMap, which is the one who provides the weather data. And, for some unknown reason it did NOT work.

Cheers !!

I hadn't time to update the Special Edition ISOs, but it rolling edition so you can update packages after installing it on a hard drive.

The next update of rolling iso is planned after Debian 13 stable popups, and then releasing Sparky 8.0 stable.

Why are the special editions (I am in particular interested in GameOver) still at 2024.12 x86_64/amd64 while all the others have progressed to 2025.03 x86_64/amd64? Thanks.
